Global Supply Chain Classroom has adopted the American Logistics Education Partnership (ALEP) quality standards to ensure our programs meet the requirements for world-class logistics and supply chain management education programs.

Introduction to American Logistics Education Partnership (ALEP) Academic Standards

The American Society of Transportation & Logistics (AST&L) was founded in 1946 during the logistics industry’s infancy by a group of industry leaders to promote and ensure the highest level of standards through education and professional certification in the field of transportation and logistics. Working with many of the leading logistics programs and professors, AST&L set the standard in curriculum content, instructional quality, and learning resources for degree programs in transportation, logistics, and supply chain. ALEP carried on AST&L’s experience and expertise to create a global standard for world-class logistics and supply chain management education programs, known as “ALEP Standards”.

The ALEP Standards

The ALEP standard is specifically designed for four-year university degree programs and three-year college diploma programs. It sets out the expectations for the program’s faculty qualification, curricular contents, instructional quality, industry cooperation and learning resources.

  • Faculty requirements – Program faculty are qualified and participate in continuous learning and faculty development programs.
  • Curriculum requirements – The program covers general skills and business knowledge areas and core logistics and supply chain areas, provides educational resources such as internships, career advising, and other co-curricular activities, and student learning is measured.
  • Industry cooperation requirements – The program is actively engaged with industry to ensure program and course content meets real world needs, provides students interaction with  industry, and faculty is up-to-date on  industry best practices
  • Course requirements – Course texts, syllabus, and case studies are up-to-date and meet international standards.

The ALEP Standards are a reliable basis for benchmarking with leading programs, streamlining inter-institutional cooperative practices, including admissions and transfer of credit.

GSCC has developed a framework to help schools achieve these high standards with a strong emphasis on faculty development, innovation in curriculum design, international cooperation, and industry collaboration.
